The misstatements and false reasoning of the Montreal Manifesto are here so universally admitted that we had begun to think it unnecessary to pursue our dissection of it further.

I would remark that whatever may have been the latent feeling in Upper Canada at the time the Montreal Manifesto was published there was no organized or concentrated opinion on the subject.
